What the builder checks

CPU socket.
CPU and motherboard socket must match: AM4, AM5, LGA1700 and friends.
RAM generation.
DDR4 and DDR5 are not interchangeable; the board decides which you can use.
BIOS support.
Flags older boards that need a BIOS update before a newer CPU will boot.
PSU wattage.
Estimated system draw against supply capacity, with headroom for spikes.
Cooler thermals.
Cooler capacity against the CPU’s peak heat output, stock coolers included.
GPU clearance.
Card length against the case’s maximum, so the GPU physically fits.
CPU/GPU balance.
Warns when one side of the pairing would bottleneck the other.
